I’ve never been a pageant girl but I’ve always liked the message of hope that comes with making the world a better place. After all, isn’t that what all of us who learn how to make a positive impact on our world wants, too?
Yet, somewhere along our timeline we discover that it’s not just our work that helps us accomplishes this…it’s also our words. It’s easy to find the time for work but finding the words, the right words, to make the world a better place requires us to take the time to show we care enough to find the words worth sharing.
So, this holiday season I’m sharing a poem that I hope inspires you to Take The Time, by Julie Thurburn.
Once there was a time
when our tone included grace
as we the people spoke
face to face.
We made life busy
and began to hide
behind the screens made
thin, tall, and wide.
Now time is precious
and talk is cheap
so a lack of relationship
is what we reap.
Have you joined the club
of sick and tired?
Have you lost
Clarity or Focus?
Who Am I is hard to find
when love and grace escape us.
Let’s talk…have coffee…ignore the phone
Let’s share some real heart chatter
Discover the joy in living a life
where knowing each other matters.
